英语单词速记法--分解记忆法

英语中有许多组合词，如分解开来可有效记忆。组合词可以是两个词正向成义，也可反向
成
义，还可以压缩成义。
Anteater =ant-eat-er=食蚁兽
Blackmail =black-mail=黑信=敲诈demand for something in return for keeping 
    a damaging secret. 例: The nurse resorted to blackmail.
Butterfly =butter（黄油）-fly（飞虫）=蝴蝶
cave-in =塌方
deadlock =dead-lock=死锁=僵局. 例: come to a deadlock. break the deadlock.
Dragonfly =dragon-fly=龙蝇=蜻蜓
Eardrum =ear-drum=耳鼓=耳膜
Eyelid =eye-lid=眼睛的盖子=眼睑.
Facelift =face-lift =面-提=把面皮往上提=整容
Hairsplitting =split hair=头发-劈开=吹毛求疵
Offhand =off-hand=即刻的, 未准备的, 随便的. 反: premeditated
off-key =走调, 不正常, 不协调的. 反: at the proper pitch调
outcome =out-come=结果, 后果
outlaw =out-of-law=罪犯, 被放逐者. 放逐, 使非法
outlet =out-let=出口
outrage =out（出来）-rage（怒火）=暴行, 迫害. 反: reasonable, sensible. 
    例: The vandals were punished for their outrageous behavior. 
outrageous=adj.
Outskirts =out-skirts=裙边=郊区.   
Overturn =turn over=推翻
Pitfall =a pit for you to fall into=圈套
Sidestep =step aside=避让. 反: confront directly
Shortcut =cut short=缩短=捷径. 例: They took a shortcut across the field 
    instead of going by the way.
Slight =small-light=轻,微. 例: a slight error.
Smog =smoke-fog=烟雾
Standpoint =stand point=立足点=观点, 立场
Tiptoe =tip-toe=尖-脚趾=用脚尖走. 例: She tiptoed to the bedside of the 
    sleeping child.  
Upcoming =up-come-ing=即将来临的
Uphold =up-hold=坚持, 支持, 鼓励
Upkeep =up-keep=维持, 维修
Upright =up-right=直立的, 正直的. 反: list倾斜的
Warmonger =war-monger=战争贩子. 反: pacifist
Waterproof =water-proof=防水的, 密封的. 反: permeable
